During peak hours, it can be extremely challenging to have a fast dining experience at a fast-food restaurant.

In response, many restaurants are starting to introduce kiosks as part of the ordering process. Nevertheless, some of these kiosks provide a subpar and inefficient experience.

Brand Guidelines

I created a new brand identity for Taichi. From color palette to brand voice new Taichi Kiosk can be summarized in my brand guidelines document.

Heuristic Evaluation

I initiated this project by conducting a competitive analysis of three in-store order kiosks (Panera, TacoBell, and Crumble Cook) and performed a comprehensive heuristic evaluation specifically for Panera's kiosk.

Based on this research, I determined the need to design a kiosk that prioritizes ergonomics. See PDF for more details.

UX Research

UX Research

Following the heuristic evaluation, I proceeded to develop a comprehensive user flow to ensure user accessibility.

Wireframes

Wireframes

Following the research phase, I proceeded to develop high-fidelity wireframes. Following what I learned from my research, I focused on a proper navigation system that included customization of the products.

FINAL DESIGNS

FINAL DESIGNS

I presented my iterations/progress to my professor and peers on a weekly basis. These presentations allowed me to share and receive feedback on the detailed design and come to my final iteration…

TAKEAWAYS

TAKEAWAYS

Taking time to research and evaluate the best possible user experience sets your designs up for success.

After spending a considerable time of research on this project I found it easy to understand how to implement an effective UI into the kiosk screens. If I had more time with this project I would iterate my designs a few more times and add in some more visual assets to create an even more interactive experience.
